Ivy Claire Weirather resides in Peoria, Ill. where she currently attends Illinois Central College in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree to become a marketing manager. She is 22 years old and comes from a small town in the very southeast corner of Iowa called Montrose. Growing up in Montrose is where her love for horses, humble lifestyles, and the Midwest derived. She would like to thank her parents, Jeff Weirather of Montrose, Ia. and Theresa Potter of Fort Madison, Ia. for instilling the basis of her roots. She is blessed with three siblings, three nieces, and a nephew who believe in her and support her.
She has always enjoyed competing in western pleasure, barrel racing, and pole bending. As a little girl she not only dreamed of being a rodeo queen, but her dream was to achieve this goal alongside her horse, Dolly Boy, who has taught her everything about teamwork and unconditional love. To date, Dolly Boy and Ivy have held many rodeo queen titles including Miss Wapello Rodeo Queen 2015, Miss Fort Madison Saddle Club Queen 2013, Miss Pride in the Sky Rodeo Queen 2012, and Miss Teen Wapello Rodeo Queen 2011. Their most recent and prestigious title, Miss Rodeo Illinois 2018, is an honor and dream come true.
Aside from the rodeo arena, Ivy enjoys hiking and fishing. She loves to travel and chase new experiences. Ivy is very family oriented and enjoys spending time with her nieces and nephew. Along with her horse, Ivy has a miniature potbellied pig named Bo who has become her most loyal companion in all of her endeavors. She has many goals set for herself as Miss Rodeo Illinois 2018, and plan to execute every opportunity to give back to her community which is so near and dear to her heart.
Ivy feels that the opportunity of being Miss Rodeo Illinois 2018 is her chance to represent rodeo and the great state of Illinois, as well as doing her part to always improve. She wants to promote the western way of life and believes that a rodeo queen is an inspirational role model. One of her many goals for 2018 is to be that inspirational role model. Ivy am very passionate about her horse and rodeo and wants to share that passion across the state and country.
